This collection of short stories has
been on my “to read” list for a long time and I am glad I finally read it. I did not realize until I had the book in my
hands that the stories spanned the years from 1967 to present, but the
characters and plots are not noticeably dated in any way.
Some of the stories are sad and
troubling and some of them are thought provoking. Sometimes the author tells almost the whole
story before revealing the characters names, and sometimes the action really
only takes place between two individuals.
I found her writing intense and
precise and I enjoyed this book.
