Loot: How to Steal a Fortune by Jude Watson 272 pages

When March’s father, Alfie McQuinn a notorious thief, falls from a rooftop in Amsterdam, the last words that March is left with are “Find jewels.” March wasn’t sure what jewels his father was talking about, but he soon learns that his father was not talking about gems. He was talking about March’s twin sister Jules, a sister he never knew he had.

Jules and March find themselves being sent to a group home in the States, where they meet Darius and Izzy. The four join forces when they follow the clues left by Alfie, to recover seven cursed moonstone gem. If they can recover them, they would get the reward of seven million dollars.

The only hitch in this plan, it is said that March and Jules are cursed and the prophesy is to be fulfilled by their thirteen birthday, a week away.

This is a Mark Twain Award nominee.
