I loved this
book. It was a quick read but full of philosophizing
about life and love. Quotes from famous authors are scattered throughout the book,
which is written in a stream of consciousness format.
The narrator is “the
wife” and tells the story of her marriage and the birth of her daughter. “The husband” strays and the wife does lots
of soul searching as a result.
One of my favorite
parts:
“Three things no one
has ever said about me:
You
make it look so easy.
You
are very mysterious.
You
need to take yourself more seriously.”
Another favorite
part, written in regard to the characteristics of the husband’s girlfriend:
“Taller?
Thinner?
Quieter?
Easier, he says.”
How can you not love
this woman?
