This is a collection of short stores
set in Minnesota. Although most of the
characters and stories could have been from any Midwestern state, I do not
think it likely that they could have been from either of the coasts. Having lived in Minnesota at two different
times in my life, I enjoyed the place names and references to parts of the
state with which I am familiar.
Some of these stories were better than
others, naturally, but I will say that almost none left you feeling uplifted or
that the characters learned much from their muddled lives and mistakes.
