Hotshot By: Julie Garwood 356 pages

The MacBain boys aren’t allowed to swim in their neighbors pool.  However, Finn MacBain was watching out his bedroom window when neighbor Peyton Lockhart sits on the edge of the pool and reaches in to splash the water and goes a little too far.  Peyton goes under and there is nobody else around, but the Lockharts are having a party.  Finn rushes out of his front door and through the neighbors front door, then dives into the pool and pulls Peyton out.  That day Finn MacBain became her hero.  Now every year on her birthday, the same date that he saved her life, Peyton emails Finn to thank him.   Most of her emails go unresponded to.

Fast forward about twenty years.  Peyton takes a job at a popular food magazine.  Not her dream job, but it’s something closer to being a chef.  Peyton’s boss is just horrible.  He likes to prey on his assistants.  However, Peyton is the only one to stand up to Drew Albertson and accuses him of sexual harassament. Peyton isn’t going to just accuse him, she’s going to expose him, as well.  Doing that only puts her life in danger.   Peyton calls on now FBI agent Finn MacBain to help protect her, but can he protect his heart from her?

I really enjoyed this book.  I have only read a few books by Julie Garwood, but have enjoyed each of them.  She keeps you interested throughout the whole book.  I had over a hundred pages to read last night, and I just couldn’t put it down, I had to see how it ended.
