The Death Catchers by Jennifer Anne Kogler 344 pages

This may be my favorite of the Truman nominees this year.  It was a delightful blend of slice of life and fantasy.  The story is about a young lady who discovers on her 13th Halloween that she gets premonitions of untimely deaths of those about whom she cares.  Her eccentric grandma has shared the same secret since she was 13 and guides her in the fine (and thrilling) art of preventing these deaths.  I'm not giving anything away except that I love how some Arthurian legend gets woven into this story.  I highly recommend this book for kids 4th grade and up, and for adults who enjoy a good piece of Juvenile literature.
