Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick 637 pages

Wonderstruck is another title from Brian Selznick who wrote and illustrated The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which was adapted to a movie I will probably never watch.  Brian Selznick is an amazing artist, who tells his stories as much with his pictures as with his text.  In Hugo, the pictures would fill in parts of the written story.  Wonderstruck was different in that the pictures were telling a completely different, but just as compelling,
story as the written story.  Both stories involve children who are deaf dealing with world without sound.  When you finally see how the stories fit together it is a really beautiful thing.  For those of you who didn't really care for Hugo, I highly recommend you give this one a try.  Wonderstruck is a very worthy nominee for the Mark Twain award nominee.
